The court has declined to verify or disavow the document, and until an official opinion is signed or released by the court, Roe v. Wade remains the law of the land. Emma Wiseman of Albion has been recognized as a 2022 Illinois FFA Top 10 Section President, and she will be honored during the 2022 Illinois FFA State Convention in June. Wiseman was the 2020-2021 Edwards County FFA President and is the current FFA Section 23 President. She received her State FFA Degree in 2021, a Top-10 Chapter President Award in 2021, and the Gold Chapter President Award in 2020. Fairfield police investigated a traffic crash at the intersection of Commerce Drive and West Delaware Street yesterday afternoon. Police say 27-year-old Fairfield resident Jeffrey May was driving a 2012 Chevrolet and pulled into the path of a 2010 Freightliner bus operated by 56-year-old Waltonville resident Tammy Durietz. No injuries were reported, and May was cited for disobeying a stop sign. No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident about a mile north of Cisne Thursday afternoon. Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 was requested by the Fairfield Police Department to conduct a death investigation in Fairfield on Saturday. At approximately 8 a.m., a 28-year-old male was found deceased near the 600 block of Southeast 4th Street. The official cause and manner of death will be released by the Wayne County Coroner's office once an autopsy is conducted and toxicology report received. This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no additional information is being released at this time. The Western Wayne Water District says the boil order that had been in effect for residents on Gateway Water has been lifted. Parts of Keenes, Wayne City, Sims, and Bluford were impacted, as were Cisne, Farrington, Flora, Geff, Iuka, Johnsonville, Rinard, and Xenia. The order was issued on February 22nd, but, again, residents on Gateway Water no longer need to boil water to be used for human consumption. Wayne County farmers saw significantly better soybean yields in 2021 than in 2020, per a recent report from the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service. County farmers harvested 121,700 soybean acres in 2021, compared to 154,600 in 2020. The average yield per acre jumped more than 10 bushels, however, going from 51.1 in 2020 to 62.6 last year.
