Naples City Council voted on Wednesday to approve a $143K agreement with former City Manager Charles Chapman following his resignation last week.
The city agreed to pay Chapman a total sum of $100,054, equivalent to 20 weeks of total compensation, less state and federal withholding, Monique Barnhart, spokesperson for the city, wrote in an email Wednesday.
Total compensation means wages, benefits, cell phone allowance and housing allowance, among others, for the 20-week period, the agreement states. In all, $19,238.60 of the payout is for various allowances, and $80,815.36 is for salary.
Chapman will also receive payment for all 425 accrued and unused personal leave hours for a sum of nearly $43,000, the agreement states.
