Blood evidence warrant for Watts released

Wichita County Commissioner Jeff Watts was spotted stumbling and falling at the county building north of Electra just before his one-vehicle rollover crash south of town, which led to a Feb. 18 DWI charge, according to allegations in a blood evidence warrant obtained by the Times Record News. A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper sought the warrant to get a blood sample to test for alcohol because Watts refused to provide one after his wreck, according to the warrant.  Watts of Iowa Park is commissioner of Precinct 4, which includes the Electra area.  Watts released a statement Monday in which he admitted to drinking and driving, promised never to again and asked for forgiveness from Wichita County residents.
