SALEM City Health Commissioner Alanna Stainbrook reported more than 800 people are on the city health district’s waiting list for the coronavirus vaccine.
The district is administering 100 first doses per week to people who are registered and another 100 doses per week to people receiving their second injection. The number of doses available is dependent on how many the district receives each week.
“As fast as they can get us the vaccine, we’re getting it into arms,” she said.
Last month, the city health district administered 340 COVID-19 shots, but now she said the number is up to 740. The city is one of several locations where residents in the area can receive the vaccine and more providers have been added, but people are getting a little impatient.
