Regina mayor supportive of conversion therapy ban

REGINA Regina Mayor Sandra Masters says she would like the City of Regina to follow in the Saskatoon s footsteps and ban the practice of conversion therapy. Masters made the comments after Thursday s special city council meeting regarding an application about the historic Cook House. I would be in favour of a ban, Masters said. We have a lovely new committee called Community Wellness Committee, this is exactly the issue that should go before this committee. They should review it hear from delegates on both sides of the argument, and then make a recommendation and into council. That is a place to be heard before council, and I would welcome that topic to come forward.

Democrat Michael Greene Says Party Backing Is Essential To Pushing Campaign Forward

Credit facebook.com/Greeneformayor Syracuse Common Councilor Michael Greene is ready to move his mayoral campaign forward after what he called an essential boost from fellow democrats.  Greene said the endorsement from the Onondaga County Democratic Committee won’t change how he campaigns.    “For me, it’s always going to be a policy-focused campaign, and therefore whether it’s a primary (or) a general election, it won’t change anything for me strategically,” Greene said. “It’s going to be talking about how we can change policy at City Hall to make lives better in the city of Syracuse.” Greene feels what set him apart from the others vying for the party’s designation was his 14-step policy proposal called “A City For All of Us”.
