In response to the economic hardships experienced by small businesses resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Bloomington’s Economic & Community Development Department is launching a COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Grant Program to assist small businesses in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City of Bloomingtonâs Economic & Community Development Department is starting a COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Grant Program.
The $220,000 program is being funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the CARES Act. This program is meant to help small businesses when it comes to responding to the COVID-19 pandemic so that business can recover.Â
Those businesses are for-profit businesses with annual revenues of up to $1 million and have 50 or fewer employees. Businesses that are eligible for the program can receive a one-time grant of up to $5,000.Â
The grant will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses must be located in the City of Bloomington and have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
