+ December 11, 2020 AFTER almost one year of waiting, Cebu City athletes who took home medals during the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2019 will soon receive their cash incentive from the City Government.
The City Council approved a resolution sponsored by City Councilor Donaldo Hontiveros during the regular session on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, which grants medalists cash incentives totalling P2 million.
Hontiveros, chairman of the committee on games and amusement, said the amount covers more than 35 gold, silver and bronze medalists.
In the last SEA Games, Cebuanos and athletes with roots in Cebu racked up a total of 19 gold medals, 17 silvers and 22 bronzes.
