"Over the next three years the Detroit Eviction Defense Fund will be investing up to $13 million to provide legal representation for low-income Detroit renters at risk of eviction," Jennifer Gilbert said.
Officials say the donation will work to undo decades of racist housing policy and practice. It's expected to help 18,000 families over the next three years.
"This suspect used no accelerants, and he would just use combustibles, with cardboard boxes," Sanders said. "The fire he was caught on, he brought the cardboard boxes to the garage and set them on fire. He said he didn’t want to injure anyone and that he knew he was damaging people's property."
