Photo: WINA CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – The Charlottesville School Board, hoping for a funding from the General Assembly, approved a $94.25-million budget for the next fiscal year than includes 5% pay raises for all division employees. Superintendent Rosa Atkins’ presented a prior budget with a 2% raise, but Governor Northam has expressed the desire the state legislature this session approve money for 5% raises. Atkins is bullish on that money being approved by a Democrat majority in both chambers for the Democrat Governor to sign. If somehow that money is not approved, Atkins says the division would move forward with the 5% raises using CARES funds.
