Creating an ‘outdoor entertainment venue liquor license’ is a big step toward holding concerts this summer at the former Morton Salt facility, 1357 N. Elston Ave. But two alderpersons are a little salty about the prospect.
Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) had proposed banning pedicabs altogether from the River North entertainment district after 6 p.m. and prohibiting pedicabs from using amplified sound. On Wednesday, Reilly settled for a whole lot less.
Ken Meyer said his goal is to "get people off their personal computers, shopping on Amazon and other places and actually back into the streets." The 27-year City Hall veteran replaces his former boss, Rosa Escareno.
