The Galesburg Fire Department will be making history on Monday, May 2nd. Galesburg native Haley Stevenson will be sworn-in during a ceremony in the City Council Chambers at Galesburg City Hall at 10:00 am on Monday. Stevenson will be the first female firefighter for the City. In a statement, Chief Randy Hovind said, "This is an achievement that is long overdue." He added, "We.know that this is the first step of many towards accomplishing levels of diversity that truly represent our community."
