Under the Vikshit Bharat Vikshit North East programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled projects worth Rs 55,600 crore for six northeast states. For Manipur, projects worth Rs 3500 crores were launched, including Manipur Technical University, IT SEZ, football grounds, road projects, bridges, and water supply schemes. Additionally, a Unity Mall was inaugurated, focusing on sports and the preservation of nature.
IMPHAL: Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Kaushal Kishore on Wednesday chaired a review meeting of various central schemes taken up in Manipur including the Imphal smart city and PM’s housing for all scheme. The meeting, which was held at the City Convention Centre in Imphal, was attended by state’s Municipal Administration Housing and Urban Development minister Yumnam Khemchand, Commissioner (MAHUD) M Joy and Chief Town Planner (in-charge)N Benju and other officials. Earlier in the morning, Kaushal Kishore also had a discussion on the implementation of the government schemes and projects with the state Chief Minister N Biren Singh at the latter’s secretariat in Imphal. Sharing the photographs of the discussion at CM’s secretariat in Imphal in a tweet, Biren Singh wrote, “It was a pleasure to have Shri @mp kaushal ji Hon’ble Union MoS for Housing & Urban affairs at my official residence.Deliberated on the implementation schemes & project
To encourage the use of the OBPS, the MAHUD minister announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 each to the first five registered architects or firms who submit the building application by October 15.
