Councilors approve the purchase of the former Rome property on Main Street in Gardner

GARDNER Ward 2 Councilor Elizabeth Kazinskas was re-elected as City Council president during the council s first official meeting of 2021. Councilors also bid an official farewell to retiring City Clerk Alan Agnelli.
“Since April, when she simultaneously took responsibility as council president and acting mayor, Councilor Kazinskas has navigated the challenges of the current pandemic admirably and with distinction as a competent and proven leader,” said Councilor George Tyros prior to the vote, which was 8-1 in favor of Kazinskas. “(She) has established a great relationship with city and state officials while maintaining her connections and commitment to the community and the constituents she serves.”
