MURRAY – The Murray City Council voted 8-2 Thursday to alter its meeting schedule to once a month, citing efficiency and cost savings as the largest motivating factors.
MURRAY â City of Murray Mayor Bob Rogers said Thursday that he will not issue a mask mandate in the city, based both on legal advice, as well as what he and other city officials are seeing exhibited by residents and businesses.
Rogers addressed this in a written statement before Thursday nightâs meeting of the city council. He said at least two petitions have been submitted asking for a mandate within the city, the latest of which surfaced during the day on Thursday.
âWe called KLC (Kentucky League of Cities) to see what other cities are doing. First, they reminded us that there is already a mask mandate in place - issued by (Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear).
