Members of the Detroit Lakes City Council approved preliminary plans for a $4.3 million street and utility improvement project on Campbell Avenue and Linden Lane during a regular meeting held Feb. 8. The project will replace sewer and water connections that have been in use since the 1930s, according to the city's engineer. Also during the meeting, the process for implementing a body camera policy for the Detroit Lakes Police Department was also discussed with the police chief. Electronic comments concerning the potential program will continue to be accepted throughout the month.
