Quinovic chief operating officer Paul Chapman said he was unable to comment on the specific details of the case but “some property managers would charge a fee when there was a change of tenant on a tenancy agreement”. Some offices charged an hourly rate of $90, not including GST, to perform checks on new tenants. The fee covered things such as credit checks, reference checks, associated paperwork, as well as liaising with the bonds centre, Chapman said.
