The department of justice revealed its 94 findings and 272 recommendations at a press conference thats still going on. The u. S. Attorney said that after completing the review, its clear that the San Francisco Police Department has tremendous work ahead of it to meet and exceed the National Police standards. The assessment was broken down into five areas of the sfpd including use of force and bias in policing methods. Ronald davis of the Justice Department explained that there are significant deficiencies across the board. One recommendation is that officers are given stun against as all alternate to lethal force. And they need to improve how they track use of force. They didnt find proof of racial bias by officers. It concluded that black drivers are stopped more frequently than any other race. A vehicle fire at the bay bridge toll plaza this morning turned out to be deliberately set. Witnesses say it was the driver who set his own pickup truck on fire. Good afternoon im tori campbell. Reporter good afternoon, now chp did not tell us that the man set his own truck on fire but witnesses sure did. They took pictures. Apparently the man got off his on the bridge and torched him own truck. This is whats left of the pickup after witnesses say a man set it on fire. A man in the pickup truck was reported unresponsive and blocking a lane. Witnesses say the man dressed in a dark shirt and camouflage pants got out of the truck and was seen running through several lanes with a gas can. Soon the white ford pickup truck was on fire.
