A complaint has been filed against Premier Blaine Higgs over a letter written by Energy Development Minister Mike Holland to the Energy and Utilities Board. Liberal MLA Rob McKee complains the letter is a conflict of interest and Higgs should be responsible for interfereing, because Holland was acting on his behalf, according to CBC.  Holland asked the board to rush its review of a request from Irving Oil for an increase in price margins that gas retailers are allowed to charge customers The Liberals say Higgs, has a “private interest” in the EUB decision because he is a former Irving Oil executive. The government argues that there is no conflict for Higgs as he would not be financially better off no matter the decision.
