0 Toprak Razgatlioglu says winning is the aim in Estoril - a circuit that saw him take two victories in 2020, but that ‘I am not relaxed’ coming in as competition in WorldSBK is ‘very high’. Toprak Razgatlioglu heads into this weekend’s round two of the 2021 WorldSBK championship fourth in the standings after a first Aragon podium.  Razgatlioglu achieved his best results in Aragon since joining the premier class in 2018. The 24 year-old’s rostrum finish came in race one, while he also took two sixth places during Sunday’s Superpole and race two.  At the 2020 season finale in Estoril, Razgatlioglu took two wins and a third place which was just enough to pip team-mate at the time Michael Van Der Mar to fourth in the championship.

MotoGP (via Public) / Revisiting the 2006 Estoril epic

Revisiting the 2006 Estoril epic Almost 15 years ago, Cabo da Roca set the scene for one of the most thrilling races in MotoGP™ history, one which contained heartbreak and delirium in equal measures at the Portuguese Grand Prix. The sun-scorched cape sits just over 16km away from Circuito Estoril, the host of the penultimate race of the 2006 World Championship. The late, great Nicky Hayden, then of Repsol Honda Team, led the title race by 12 points, with none other than then Champion, and current Petronas SRT rider, Valentino Rossi keeping pace with the Kentucky Kid. It s been a few years since a title has gone the distance but this one is definitely going to go the distance, said Hayden.
