CHARLESTON A Kanawha County couple is suing the City of South Charleston for damages sustained to their home after sewage infiltrated their home.
Timothy Cerullo and Courtney Cerullo filed the lawsuit against South Charleston and Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Company alleging sewage backed up into their home on April 25, 2019, emerging through various drain portals and walls and spreading throughout their house, making the house uninhabitable, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
The Cerullos claim the city failed to fulfill its duty to keep the sewage system in repair and that Nationwide allowed Paul Davis Restoration and Paul Davis Emergency Services to repair their home and the Paul Davis entities took a long time to repair their home, taking several long absences. CHARLESTON – A Charleston woman says an undercooked cheeseburger from Applebee’s led to food poisoning, medical treatment and lost work.
Kharis Hairston filed her complaint last month in Kanawha Circuit Court against Legacy Apple III LLC doing business as Applebee’s Grill and Bar.
According to her complaint, Hairston purchased a cheeseburger meal to go from the Applebee’s at Kanawha Mall in Kanawha City on August 24, 2020. Cary
“After ingesting a significant portion of the meal, she soon discovered that she had consumed undercooked beef,” the complaint states. “Soon thereafter, Ms. Hairston became very ill and suffered extreme symptoms of food poisoning including vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration.”
