IT HAD BEEN VERY COLD AND NOT MUCH SNOW AND THEN THERE WAS A LOT OF SNOW SO THERE WAS A SLIPPERY SURFACE. This winter has been one of the deadliest on record and with weeks remaining in the season, one New Hampshire family shared their loss in hopes of saving a life. It has been five years since tragedy struck a Franconia family. Elite skier Ronnie Berlack and his U.S. Ski teammate Bryce Astle were killed in an avalanche while skiing off a groomed trail in Austria.Sign up for our Newsletters It had been very cold and not much snow and then there was a lot of snow, so there was a slippery surface, Berlack s mother Cindy Berlack said.
