On Sept. 13, 2020, Drift posted several photos taken from the top of the Ambassador Bridge to his Twitter account with the caption, “A night and sunrise between the US and Canada.”
Kris Grogan, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said at the time that the agency was working with American and Canadian authorities to investigate the Ambassador Bridge incident.
Wright wasn’t the first person to allegedly climb the bridge to take pictures of himself.
Windsor musician Luke Heney, who fronts the rock band 1988, climbed a suspension cable on the Canadian side in September 2019. When he reached the top of the tower, just under the red-lettered Ambassador Bridge sign, he hung a banner promoting his band.
