MIDDLEBURG — A women from Richmond, Virginia, found alongside an Interstate 85 ramp suffered apparent gunshot wounds and died, and a man from Richmond will be charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case. Vance County Sheriff Curtis Brame said deputies were called to the scene — the Exit 220 northbound on-ramp, near a Mobil gas station — at about 3:26 p.m. on Thursday. The initial reports they received indicated the woman, Cierra Jackson, had possible stab wounds. But she had “numerous apparent gunshot wounds to the body.” Emergency responders performed CPR, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, Brame said. Authorities received a description of a vehicle and possible suspect, and passed it along to other law-enforcement agencies in North Carolina and Virginia via a be-on-the-lookout advisory.
