When a person is stuck 9,600 feet up a mountain and hears nothing but their own thoughts, it can be a paralyzing, harrowing experience. But it is also intense for search and rescue crews desperately trying to find that person.
“Our open space deputies have done three to five rescues getting vehicles that were struck for people that were hiking and not prepared for those weather conditions," Deputy Connor Otero said.
New Mexico State Police air support, Albuquerque Police Department's Open Space, Albuquerque Mountain Rescue Council, Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office Open Space, Bernalillo County Fire Department, and Cibola Search and Rescue worked on the rescue. | Local News from KRQE News 13 in Albuquerque, New Mexico
