Development group Go Golspie bought the hall following a £147,900 award from the Scottish Land Fund. Members of the public also made funding pledges. A post on the group’s Facebook page thanked everyone who had supported the project. It read: “This is only the first step and now the work starts on making the hall a fantastic venue for a wide range of events.”

Development group Go Golspie is set to purchase the Church of Scotland’s Fountain Road Hall following a Scottish Land Fund award of £147,900. And the group is also taking over the dilapidated YMCA hall, which is located on the Main Street and is in need of substantial renovation.
