.- Jane Kaufman was making minimalist paintings in the early 1970s, spraying automobile paint on huge canvases. To be sure, the paint was sparkly, so the canvases shimmered lyrical abstraction was how one reviewer described her art and that of others doing similar work but they were firmly of their reductive minimalist moment. Hilton Kramer of The New York Times approved, giving Kaufman a nod as a new abstractionist in his mostly dismissive review of the Whitney Biennial in 1973.

most applause, frankly, the most attention, the two times he went off script. yes, this is characteristic of pope francis. people love when he goes off script because they feel he s speaking from his heart. it occurred to me as i was listening to him that this is really a pope who has gone through so many changes. saw the second vatican council and couldn t have said when he said when he was a boy. all of what he said about pluralism and tolerance a result of the second vatican council. this is a pope who has seen change in the church. i think he says change is something that is part of growth and he wants to see the church grow. so it s just so consoling and encouraging to see his spirit and his love for the church and his love for the world just come alive, especially when he speaks to a crowd like that. so, let s talk impact on this specific of clergy.
