Updated Feb 09, 2021;
Former Western Massachusetts music impresario Mal Thursday has just released his first album with his band, The Mal Thursday Quintet.
Thursday, who now resides in Austin, Texas, says the album, “If 6 Was 5,” is a mix of garage rock, freakbeat, frat rock, folk rock, and rock opera and features players from three different nationwide “chapters” of the group (New England, Pacific Northwest, and Texas).
The New England chapter includes such local notables as Brian T. Marchese, Frank Padellaro and Greg Saulmon.
The record also features renowned drummer Hunt Sales. It has already garnered airplay on SiriusXM’s “Little Steven’s Underground Garage.”
