Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today honoured the Next of the Kin of Martyrs of security forces in a programme organized by Global Strategic Policy Foundation Pune (GSPFP), an NGO, here at the SKICC.
Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Sh. Arif Mohammed Khan, Governor of Kerala, presided over the function.
During the event, Next of the Kin of Martyrs including Lance Naik, Ashoka Chakra, Nazir Ahmad Wani; SI, Sageer Ahmad Pathan; SGCT, Mohammad Yousuf, Kirti Chakra; Major, Sushil Aima; Ashoka Chakra, Naib Subedar, Chuni Lal and Shurya Chakra, Abdul Hamid Chara were felicitated.

SRINAGAR, Apr 4: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said that Jammu and Kashmir is moving ahead with a new vision and new thought where there is no place for militancy and its supporters.
He said that the Government is working on a new educational policy to incorporate in the school curriculum contributions made by the heroes of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Indian Army who have made supreme sacrifices fighting militants and enemy.
Addressing a function organsied by the Global Strategic Police Foundation, Pune to felicitate the next of kins of slain policemen and soldiers, at SKICC here, Sinha said that he has no words to pay tributes to the policemen and soldiers who laid down their lives either fighting militancy or protecting borders.

15 trapped in snowstorm rescued from Sarthal

JAMMU/ SRINAGAR, Dec 28: While at least 15 persons trapped in snow storm in Sarthal area of Bani Sub Division in Kathua were recued by GREF and Police team today, the heavy snowfall in many hilly areas of Jammu region including Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Kathua and Poonch areas over night blocked many roads whereas, power and water supply to a large number of snow bound areas has been snapped.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway which was blocked after snowfall in Jawahar Tunnel area last night, was restored at around 9.15 am today while Doda-Bhaderwah, Chenani-Latti-Dudu and Basantgarh roads besides Bani-Loang- Sarthal and many link roads in Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar. Poonch and Reasi area were blocked due to heavy snowfall of the season.
