SAN DIEGO The Chula Vista community had burning questions answered about fire safety Saturday. It s all a part of the Wildland Urban Interface Training offered by the Chula Vista Fire Safety Council and Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
Community members gathered at the Chula Vista Fire Department to learn the best ways to not only protect themselves, but also protect their home before a fire. I don’t want to lose anyone. We saw some videos where people died and if we don’t prepare ahead, we will be sorry, said Chula Vista resident, Crystal Fairley. She, along with 20 more people, learned how to create defensible spaces which is crucial to protecting homes and families from a wildfire.
