Ahead of California’s mid-June reopening, city leaders in the South Bay said they are transitioning toward a full reopening at their own paces.
Chula Vista, National City and Imperial Beach will each look a little different, at least in the next 30 days, as more people return to work and as officials track everchanging safety measure requirements in the workplace.
“The June 15 date is going to be a transitional date for us,” said Chula Vista City Manager Maria Kachadoorian. “We’ve been actually trying to phase ourselves into reopening slowly. We didn’t think that going from one approach one day and then jumping into another would make sense because COVID isn’t going away on June 15.”
