An Ekiti State high court sitting in Ado Ekiti which gave the judgment, also sentenced seven other persons, Solomon Ayodele Obamoyegun 39, Femi Omiawe 40, Damilola Obamoyegun 20, Bose Sade Ajayi 30, George Lucky 35, Chukwuma Nnamani 22, and Sunday Ogunleye 45 to 5 years imprisonment each without an option of fine for kidnapping. In their testimony, the investigating police officers said the car was tracked to the compound of ACP Akubo Aboye, who on interrogation confessed that he bought the Hilux van from his mechanic who received it from the kidnappers.

Police prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo told the court that the accused person conspired with bank officials, standing as a middle man to acquire a loan for 186 persons, knowing it was a false pretence and with intent to defraud. The 186 persons defrauded on the pretence of repaying the loan secured for them are staff of Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun state. The accused person who is facing a four-count charge pleaded not guilty to the allegations slammed against him.
