VIJAYAWADA: A woman poured boiling oil on her mother-in-law after a dispute over ‘Jagananna Cheyutha’ money at Gudivada in Krishna district on Saturday night. Chukka Lakshmi (55) suffered severe burns on her face, shoulders, and hands.
Gudivada two town sub-inspector V Rajendra Prasad said that Lakshmi is a beneficiary of ‘Jagananna Cheyutha’ scheme and received Rs 18,000 recently. Lakshmi’s daughter-in-law Chukka Swarupa (25) asked her to give her the money.
As Lakshmi refused to give money to Swarupa, a dispute started between the two. They were engaged in a heated argument over the money that lasted about more than two hours. They live in two different portions of the same house.
