in chicago, thirty three were gunned down, five of those died in laguna woods, california, chinese immigrant from las vegas walked into a presbyterian church and shot six elderly taiwanese parishioners. police say he was motivated by some kind of political and ethnic hatred. and of course, most famously of all, on saturday afternoon a teenager in a mock military uniform walked into a grocery store in buffalo and shot more than a dozen strangers with a rifle. no doubt you ve seen accounts of this on the news which you probably haven t seen details w about any of the 10 americans who were murdered in that store in buffalo. you may not even know their names, much less who they were or who they loved. most of them were black. we know that . but beyond the way they look, not a lot has been reported about them because the coverage hasn t beenth about them nor in fact has it really been about the gunman. unhe was an 18 year old called paten gendron.le gendron was mentally illd peyto

The 1st is that the us and other nations face a policy choice between sanctions and diplomacy. Really, both of those along with the other instruments of National Power should be used in an integrated comprehensive manner. You do not rely upon any one tool. Clumsy and sanctions are two sides of the same point. As frederick the great said diplomacy without arms is like music without instruments. The 2nd myth is that sanctions cant affect an isolated country like north korea. Well, even the most isolated regime as to have money that crosses borders at some. Every United States senator represents at least some Food Production. That includes from the smallest states of rhode island and delaware to, of course, the largest states. And historically, those interests were dominated from people by the midwest and the heartland states. So illinois, indiana, missouri, my own state of kansas. And the midwest, up through the dakotas. And states in the south where you had members of congress and especially members of the United States who were elected forever. They accumulated great amounts of power, and they were able to influence the political process rather significantly so the states of mississippi, which was one state that had accumulated a large amount of power over the years. And the reason they couldnt do that because 22 people sunk their boats in the harbor so that ship couldnt get close enough to make it effective. 22 patriots sunk their boats for a lost cause. 22 patriots were probably told by their friends, what are you doing . Its a lost cause. Youre sinking your boat pipts your livelihood. Many of them were fishermen. Yet 22 patriots decided they needed to act. Now, i share that because many of you may have friends who are telling you that youre fighting for a lost cause. And im here to tell you just as were about to sing the sparspangled banner, 22 patriots did an act, we dont know their names, perhaps youre working with 20 of your fellow comrades to work on a particular issue that is not winnable might be winnable.
