Three years ago, I wrote a letter to the editor in response to an article written by former councillor Mark MacDonald, current chair of L’Association Renaissance Association, who was calling upon the city to invest in east end parks.
Like Mark, I felt it was time to replace the ancient playground structure at Aimé Leblanc Park [Renaissance Park] which Jesse Good describes as a former ‘derelict wreck.’
My letter stated ‘To give the park new life, I believe a nautical theme would be suitable since it would complement the waterfront surroundings and appeal to the children and passersby.’ The city was also informed of my suggestions at the time.
