POCATELLO A Montana man pulled over for nearly hitting a police cruiser was allegedly found in possession of more than eight pounds of methamphetamine.
A Chubbuck Police officer was traveling from Bannock County Jail back to Chubbuck on Interstate 15 around 8 p.m. Saturday. While traveling he noticed a blue Ford SUV driving erratically, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The SUV nearly struck the police cruiser in the back before “swiftly” changing lanes to avoid the collision.

CHUBBUCK An investigation is underway after an Idaho Falls Police officer allegedly injured a 15-year-old boy in Chubbuck Saturday night.
EastIdahoNews.com received an email from a user claiming the boy was hospitalized after an officer with the Chubbuck Police Department attacked him. The person told EastIdahoNews.com the officer smashed a window in a vehicle where the boy was sitting, leaving 30 shards of glass in the boy’s eyes.
Chubbuck Chief of Police Bill Guiberson confirmed the altercation involving a law enforcement officer and a teenage boy. The incident, he said, occurred Saturday night around 11 p.m. at Cotant Park in Chubbuck. However, the officer, he said, no longer works in Chubbuck and has not for nearly a year.

CHUBBUCK, Idaho (KIFI) UPDATE 5/18/21: Chubbuck Police have released an update to a case from May 15 regarding a deceased adult female located near the intersection of Hiline Rd and New Day Parkway in the irrigation canal.
On Monday, the Ada County Coroners Office completed an autopsy, and the deceased was positively identified as 30-year-old Samantha Bear of Fort Hall.
The autopsy revealed there were no obvious signs of trauma to her body, and at this point, foul play is not suspected in her death; however, police are still awaiting the results of a toxicology report which could be several weeks.

According to the Chubbuck Police Department, the body of Samantha Bear, 30, of Fort Hall was discovered on May 15, near the intersection of Hiline Road and New Day Parkway in a canal. The Ada County Coroner s office conducted an autopsy on Monday and revealed no obvious signs of trauma. The Chubbuck Police said they do not suspect foul play.
A toxicology report is being done, but will take several weeks before results are released. Police have asked anyone that may have been in contact with Bear to call them 208-237-7172.
