MADISON HEIGHTS/WARREN A burglary suspect shot by Warren police in the parking lot of a motel in Madison Heights has been arraigned on a felony warrant for attempted safe-breaking linked to another alleged crime.
Investigators are also considering more possible charges after the suspect, identified as Jason David Shepard, 35, of Warren, allegedly drove at arresting officers and hit an unmarked Warren police vehicle during his arrest.
Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said Shepard had been under surveillance by plainclothes officers with the department’s Special Operations Unit who were conducting an investigation into various burglaries, including an attempted theft from a Huntington Bank ATM at Nine Mile and Ryan roads Oct. 31.
