UPDATE: Worker identified in fatal construction incident in Cambridge

A stairwell under construction collapsed Wednesday morning inside a city-owned parking garage at 55 First St. in East Cambridge, killing one worker and critically injuring another.
A 911 call came in around 8:23 a.m. for a partial structure collapse, according to Cambridge Fire Department Chief Gerry Mahoney.
Two men were removing metal railings on a fourth-floor stairway when the structure collapsed. One of the men later identified as 56-year-old Christopher Stuck of South Windsor, Connecticut was pinned between the fallen stairway and the second floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The construction worker killed Wednesday when a stairwell collapsed in a Cambridge parking garage has been identified by authorities as a Connecticut man.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Cambridge Fire Chief Gerry Mahoney and Cambridge Police Commissioner Branville Bard, Jr. have identified the fatal victim from the construction site located at First Street Garage in East Cambridge as Christopher Stuck, 56 of South Windsor, Connecticut.
At roughly 8:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office were notified by the Cambridge police of a fatal incident at a construction site.
