I showed up early, Richmond recalled, in line by 7:30 for an 8 a.m. appointment. When the doors opened, she said, she cheered. But when she got to the point where she was to show her school ID, the intake person told her that as a New Jersey teacher, she didn t qualify. She told me there must have been a computer glitch, Richmond said. But she had filled out the online form and included her employer. Plus, she knew other Rocklanders who taught in New Jersey who sailed through their vaccination appointments.

Since then, Lindsay Richmond said, friends who live in New York but teach over state lines have told her they couldn t finish the Am I Eligible form once they were put in their employer information.
