FOUR drug suspects were killed and a huge cache of crystal meth or âshabuâworth P272 million was recovered in a drug operation in Taguig City on Monday.
Christopher Ocarol, Allan Catalan, and two others died in the anti-drug operation conducted by members of the Drug Enforcement Group and Taguig City Police in Barangay Napindan around 5:35 a.m.
Police said a clash armed ensued after the suspects sensed that they were transacting with policemen.
Authorities recovered 40 kilos of shabu with a street value of P272 million, along with several firearms.
Ocarol and Catalan, who were imprisoned but released in 2015, were drug lords in Central Visayas since 2000, the police said.

Police killed four suspected members of an illegal drugs syndicate in a buy-bust that went awry in Taguig City on Monday morning which also led to the confiscation of some P272-million worth of shabu.
Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said two of those killed turned out to be former inmates of the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) who had links with convicted drug lords. The other two are still unidentified.
He identified those killed as Christopher Ocarol and Allan Catalan.
Sinas said Ocarol is a known drug lord in Central Visayas since early 2000 and was actually detained for drug charges and was later sentenced to life imprisonment in 2007.
