Fort Meade and the Baltimore Orioles have been partnered for many years, staging events for youth on the installation and organizing several Military Appreciation Days at Camden Yards.
Since March 2020, when much of the country began to shelter in place due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Fort Meade child care services at Fort Meade essentially halted except for service for families whose jobs were considered essential to the national security mission.
The Fort George G. Meade Garrison Commander was one of 23 community and business leaders nominated as a Leadership Anne Arundel 2021 New Leaders Honorees. LAA nominees were selected “based on commencing an accepted, appointed or elected leadership role that serves and/or impacts the Anne Arundel County Community since March of 2020.”
