The man accused of robbing a restaurant and attempting to rob a Publix pharmacy last week did so to get drugs and sell them, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Christopher McLain, 31, was arrested Thursday after deputies say he tried to rob the pharmacy at Publix at the corner of Orange Grove Boulevard and Hancock Bridge Parkway in North Fort Myers.
McLain, who is listed as homeless, was stopped by good Samaritans after he jumped the counter, brandished a knife and demanded the worker hand over several controlled prescription medications.

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – A man with a knife was taken into custody after trying to rob a pharmacy inside a North Fort Myers Publix Thursday night.
Christopher McLain, 31, a homeless man, was arrested after investigators linked him to the crime through surveillance video.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at the Publix at 4065 Hancock Bridge Parkway. The victim told deputies she saw an unknown man standing behind the pharmacy counter holding a large knife.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at the Publix at 4065 Hancock Bridge Parkway. The victim told deputies she saw an unknown man standing behind the pharmacy counter holding a large knife.
McLain then handed her a note with a list of medications and demanded she gave them to him, while pointing the knife in her direction, an LCSO report stated.
