State police save overdose victim PORT CLINTON — Two state policemen from the Schuylkill Haven station are credited with taking quick action to save the life of a drug overdose victim at a home on Vine Street on Dec. 6. Sgt. Michael Sadusky, station commander, said the 24-year-old man was discovered unconscious due to a suspected drug overdose and was advised by Schuylkill County 911 dispatchers to conduct sternum rubs until emergency personnel arrived. Sadusky said Cpl. Mark Knock and Trooper Bradley Tymchyshyn arrived, found the man not breathing and administered two doses of the drug Narcan with negative results. A third dose was administered and Sadusky said Knock began CPR and rescue breathing. The man took an unconscious deep breath, and after the rescue breathing, the Narcan took effect.
