Officials call for state corrective action after latest tractor-trailer bridge strike in Glenville | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Shares0 GLENVILLE – After about 100 tractor-trailer strikes and turnarounds in the Canadian Pacific Railroad bridge’s existence on Glenridge Road, local officials are calling for the state and the rail company to take action in the wake of this week’s latest accident. Town Supervisor Christopher Koetzle and the local legislative delegation said they want the state to close the underpass to truck traffic and raise the 10-foot, 11-inch bridge to a height that would be safer, as determined by traffic engineers. All of the roads involved are owned by the state and county and would require state Department of Transportation involvement to coordinate and execute a solution, officials said.

Glenville holds forum on marijuana regulations; Supervisor suggests opting out to buy time for next steps | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Glenville As the Dec. 31 deadline looms for communities to decide if they want to opt out of allowing adult-use recreational marijuana businesses, Town Supervisor Christopher Koetzle suggested that the town take that path for now to buy itself some time. That’s because Glenville can opt out before the December deadline, then change its mind and opt back in if it decides ultimately to host adult-use marijuana dispensaries or coffee-shop type businesses where cannabis can be smoked on the premises, Koetzle said.
