Fowler child porn case bound over to Branch County Circuit Court

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The case of a Coldwater man who is charged with allegedly downloading child pornography onto his computer has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court. 44-year-old Christopher Jackson Fowler waved his preliminary exam in Branch County District Court which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday. A Circuit Court arraignment has been scheduled for March 1. Following a Michigan State Police investigation, Fowler was charged by Branch County prosecutors with aggravated possession of child sexual abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime. Prosecutors also filed a fourth time habitual offender sentencing enhancer against Fowler if he is convicted of the felony crimes.

Branch County man arrested in connection to child sexually abusive material file photo and last updated 2021-01-20 13:23:07-05 COLDWATER, Mich. — A 44-year-old Coldwater man has been arrested in connection to possession of child sexually abusive material and computer crimes, Michigan State Police said Wednesday. Christopher Jackson Fowler was arrested Jan. 14 and faces related charges. The investigation was started by the Fifth District Computer Crimes Unit when Fowler was found to be downloading a “large amount” of child sexually abusive material. MSP and the Coldwater Police Department conducted a search warrant at his home and seized digital evidence. The MSP Computer Crimes Unite encourages parents to speak with their children about the safe use of the internet.
