The Undergraduate Students Association Council proposed a resolution calling for UCLA to expand COVID-19 protection measures. The resolution – sponsored by Cultural Affairs Commissioner Alicia Verdugo and General Representative Eliana Sisman – calls for the reintroduction of a mask mandate, the continuation of vending machines for COVID-19 tests and the reinforcement of isolation guidelines.
After a serious motorcycle accident in April 2022, Ty Wells needed to find a new way to navigate UCLA’s hilly campus. Traveling between classes in their wheelchair proved difficult, but the fourth-year sociology student then discovered they were eligible for BruinAccess.
Administrators announced April 4 that UCLA established a new working group intended to make the campus more physically accessible for individuals with disabilities. The working group will collaborate with a UC-wide advisory board to identify accessibility inequities, develop research-based improvement plans and monitor progress on existing initiatives, according to the announcement.
