Officers of the Fletcher Police Department were cleared by the North Carolina District Attorney after a months-long investigation following a man's death in police custody.
Fletcher (Aug 30, 2023) - Officers who restrained a domestic violence suspect last June "are not criminally liable for his death" because the man "aggressively resisted arrest while . impaired by potentially lethal amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine," District Attorney Andrew Murray announced Wednesday as he released a letter to the SBI supporting his decision.
