Neighbors upstairs they had the biggest damage. When we opened it was like a dust cloud of smoke. It was pretty scary. Reporter 20 people live here and they all got out safely. Nobody was hurt. Hurricane schwartz. The rain is tapering off. Were starting to see some breaks. Right now theres a band coming through the philadelphia area. Right now theres some on the heavy side near the pennsylvania turnpike heading to the north and theres a lot more along the way. You see this band offshore. Thats moving up and is likely to come through during the night. In some places weve had an awful lot of rain. This is in suffolk county, delaware. Farther to the north, get, another couple of inches in some areas. Look at this. Bayville, 3. 6 inches of rain. Get the rain on top of the coastal flooding and it makes it worse. Plus the wind. Right now, 40 miles an hour in atlantic city. And the predicted wind gusts continue to be quite strong. Im annemarie green. Well, this morning the devastated the southeast, particularly the carolinas, has mostly tapered off. The system of tropical moisture has moved off the coast. Another one or two inches could fall today. The flood remains. There are 13 weatherrelated carolina. People who went through hurricane hugo 25 years ago said they had never seen anything like this. David begnaud reports from South Carolinas capitol colombia. Reporter these are some of the catastrophic images as we flew with the state guard over carolina, this dam one of nine breached. Dozens of aerial res crews throughout the state, including today in charleston. More than 150 people have been plucked from homes and stranded cars this 18wheeler can be seen slogging through massive flood waters. Cemeteries have been uprooted. C
Lets get right to the numbers. The range here between one to two inches for most of the areas. All the areas highlighted in green, thats about one inch. When you see the yellow, thats closer to two, two and a half inches of rainfall thats already come down, but i want to zoom in and specifically show you where we picked up the most rainfall, and thats closer to five inches, and thats near rehoboth beach. You can see in between those two cities weve got about 4. 8 inches, close to four inches outside of rehoboth beach. Half inch up to an inch more overnight, into tomorrow. At the shore, thats the biggest concern, a coastal Flood Warning will stay in effect for most of the weekend and thats going to affect along atlantic city, cape may and all your delaware beaches. Something were going to keep an eye on is onshore gusts up to about 55 miles per hour, wave heights six to ten feet and this is going to stay in effect until sunday at 6 00 p. M.
