York County voters will cast ballots in a slew of races for seats in local boroughs, township supervisory boards as well as school boards in the upcoming May 18 primary.
Among the marquee races in the off-year contest are races for row offices, the mayor and city council races in the City of York and a legislative race to fill a vacancy left by the death of an incumbent.

Voters of all stripes who live in three southcentral Pennsylvania counties have the opportunity to cast a ballot in a May 18 special election to decide who will represent them in the state Senate for the next 18 months.
On the ballots in Lebanon County and parts of York and Dauphin counties, voters will see the names of four candidates listed who hope to fill the 48th state Senatorial District seat that became open due to the January death of Sen. Dave Arnold. The winner will serve out the remainder of his term that expires Nov. 30, 2022.

The four candidates vying for the open 48th District seat in the Pennsylvania Senate offer some starkly contrasting views on a variety of issues from abortion to minimum wage.
Since this is a special election to fill the seat vacated by the death of Sen. Dave Arnold, all voters can participate in this election. In other primary contests, voters must be registered Republicans or Democrats to select their party’s nominees for the general election in the fall.
