FORMER minister of gender, youth and child development Verna St Rose Greaves believes the Children’s Authority failed two teens who were killed after running away from one of their facilities.
Greaves, a career social worker and activist, responded to questions by Sunday Newsday on the double murder of Antonio Francois and Semion Daniel, both 15. The teens were shot dead on March 28. The two were among five boys who ran away from a children s home in Valsayn by squeezing through the burglar-proofing on March 20.

THE MOTHER of a murdered teenager, Nicole Brathwaite, said her son, Antonio Francois, wanted to be a police officer, then later in life, a singer.
Francois was killed, along with his friend Semion Daniel, both 15, on Sunday night. Their bodies were found on the roof of an abandoned house in Mc Shine Lands, Laventille, after neighbours reported hearing gunshots.
The two were among five teenagers who escaped from the care of the Children s Authority in mid-March by squeezing through the burglarproofing of a home in north Trinidad
Two of the children are still on the run and a third was found after the double killing.
