Spike Strips Used To Stop Terrebonne Man
A Terrebonne man was taken into custody early this morning after authorities used spike strips to stop his vehicle. Christopher Eugene Crawford, 30, is charged with attempting to elude, reckless driving, and other charges.
According to the report, deputies were in the Crooked River Ranch area around 12:23 this morning when a 1996 silver Acura slowly drove past them. A deputy believed this vehicle was related to another case and attempted to stop the passenger car, but the driver refused to stop leading the deputies on a pursuit.
A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy deployed spike strips in the area of Badger and SW Quail Roads, but the Crawford made a U-turn and avoided the spike strips. A DCSO deputy was set up in the area of SW Quail and SW River Road with spike strips. The suspect drove by his location and both passenger side tires struck the spike strips. Crawford eventually came to a stop on SW River Road and was taken into cus
